Ford Mustang z 1966 roku to prawdziwa ikona amerykańskiej motoryzacji, która zdobyła serca kierowców na całym świecie. To był ogromny sukces. Reklamy telewizyjne zachęcały przez trzy tygodnie przed premierą i już pierwszego dnia przyjęto 22 000 zamówień. Do połowy sierpnia, kiedy rozpoczynał się rok modelowy 1965, sprzedano już 120 000 Mustangów.

Tak rodziła się amerykańska legenda. Wóz, który odzwierciedlał ducha tamtych lat, dał poczucie wolności, swobody i nieograniczonych możliwości. To żywe spełnienie amerykańskiego snu, wspaniale bulgoczące zwłaszcza w wersji z silnikiem V8 pod maską. Pod maską tego egzemplarza jest właśnie to – jednostka o pojemności 289 cali sześciennych (4,7 l) w układzie V8 o mocy 228 koni mechanicznych.
